Business Interruption Insurance is not sold as a stand-alone insurance policy and is generally an addition to a Business Owner's Policy or a Property Insurance Policy. This coverage protects your business in case of a catastrophe or a fire which renders your business temporarily disabled from undergoing your normal business routine.

This type of insurance will recover your lost profits as detailed in your financial history, cover operating expenses, and optionally cover expenses incurred by having to temporarily relocate your business to continue operation.
