Carrier

A carrier is an enterprise that offers insurance policies to the public. It issues and assumes the risks of an insurance policy. It either sells directly to the individuals or through another source such as an employees benefit plan. It can specialize in one type of insurance, such as home insurance, life insurance, auto insurance or sell multiple types of policies.
